On this tour you will visit two important districts in Bhutan, Thimphu the capital city of Bhutan and Paro the only place with international airport. These two places are the backbone of our country.

Itinerary two nights and three days tour
Day 1. Arrive in Paro and drive to Thimphu
Driving time from Paro to Thimphu 1 ½ hours
Altitude of Paro 2200 meters
You will enjoy the flight as you fly into Paro airport. All passengers seated on the left hand side of the plane as you fly into Paro will see some of the tallest mountains in the world. Flying in from Delhi and Kathmandu you will see the majestic Mount Everest just some distance away.
On arrival you will be greeted in pure Bhutanese tradition by our representative . After collecting your baggage drive to Thimphu.
After lunch do the following sightseeing in Thimphu:
Memorial chorten : This stupa/monument was built in memory of the third king of Bhutan. People throng this place the whole day. Old and young circumambulate the chorten to cleanse their sin and get good merit. This is a good place to actually interact with old and young Bhutanese and take pictures.
Buddha Dodernma : This is the tallest statue of sitting Buddha in the world. Built on a spectacular location with equally amazing view of the surround valley this place is just beautiful.
Takin preserve. This is a mini zoo which has few takins and deer. Takin is the national animal of Bhutan.
School of traditional arts and craft (painting school). This is a school where children learn traditional arts and craft.
Farmer’s market, closed on Tuesdays and best from Thursday to Sunday as the market is filled with people.
Overnight in a hotel in Thimphu.
Day 2. Drive from Thimphu to Paro.
Altitude of Thimphu 2200 meters
After early breakfast drive to Paro. Today you will hike to the Tiger’s nest monastery. This is a good half day hike. Taktsang or the tiger’s nest is closed on Tuesday for cleaning. Taktsang is the highlight of the tour in Bhutan. Built on a sheer rock cliff of almost 900 meters above the valley floor. Taktsang palphug monastery or the tiger’s nest is a beautiful monastery built in the seventeen century.
If you are interested in hike then you can hike further up and return in the evening other wise you will visit the following places after lunch:
Taa Dzong or the national museum houses the national artifacts. This building was the water tower before it was converted to a museum in 1968 by the third king of Bhutan.
The Paro Dzong is the 17th century fort built by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyel the first temporal and spiritual ruler of Bhutan.
Rest of the evening you can walk around the Paro town browsing the shops of souvenirs.
