Citizens of most countries get Indian visa on arrival so its easy to do tour in India. Bhutan visa must be applied in advance so advance booking must be done.

Since Bhutan visa can be applied only by Bhutanese tour operator its better to book through a Bhutan tour operator.

From where to start your tour?

You can fly to Bhutan, do the tour in Bhutan and then drive overland to do the tour in Sikkim, Darjeeling and Kalimpong. You can even do the tour in India first and then fly out of Bhutan after doing your tour in Bhutan.

Choice of accommodation

Our normal tour package rate includes only three star hotels. If you want something better than you have the choice to choose from the various category of hotels available.

There might be lesser choice in Darjeeling, Sikkim and Kalimpong but in Bhutan you can choose from four stars to seven star hotels.

Ideal duration required for tour of Bhutan, Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Sikkim

Usually about 12 days is required for this tour. Within 12 days you will see most places in Bhutan, Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Sikkim.

You will start your tour at an altitude of about 300 meters and go to almost 3000 meters in Bhutan. It will be a great experience as it will be seeing the British legacy left in the hill towns of India and a country which was never captured by any country in the past.

Best time to travel

The best time to travel in these region is either in the spring or in the fall. Summer the monsoon rain is heavy and there are lot of road blocks which makes traveling inconvenient.

The best months to travel are March, April, May, September, October and November.

The months of December, January and February is pretty good too but its little too chilly in the mountains. Winter is the best time to see the Himalayan ranges from various passes in Sikkim and Bhutan.
